Old Mr. Tidy was found dead in his study by Mr. Fiend. Mr. Fiend recounted his dismal discovery to the police. "I was walking by Mr. Tidy`s house when I thought I would just pop in for a visit. I noticed his study light was on and I decided to peek in from the outside to see if he was in there. There was frost on the window, so I had to wipe it away to see inside. That is when I saw his body. So I kicked in the front door to confirm my suspicions of foul play. I called the police immediately afterward."
The officer immediately arrested Mr. Fiend for the murder of Mr. Tidy. How did he know Mr. Fiend was lying?

first of all he says that he noticed the tudy light was on whichh means he could see what was inside. the second point as everyone heer says, is that he might be able to rub out twhats outside on the window, but not the condensed water on the other side of the window. Why the heck did he go to the indow ad peep in? didnt the house have a doorbell to find out wethe anoyone was in? Lastly any man named fiend is most likely to do it.

He already said he SAW the light in his study on. So they knew because he later said he had to wipe away the frost to see what was going on.

agree with jackofall....

CONDENSATION collectes on the inside of windows, and can later be frozen, but 'frost' and ice collect on the outside.

question is....how much of the body could he see, and why did he 'asume' foul play and not an accident or hart-attack ?

IT IS THE FROST BEING WIPED AWAY FROM THE OUTSIDE. THAT WOULD NOT HAPPEN IF IT WAS ON TEH INSIDE, SILLY.
